BCBA holds 35th AGM; elects new Office Bearers for 2020-22
|
MUMBAI: The 35th Annual General Meeting of the Brihanmumbai Custom Brokers Association (BCBA) was held on 18th September 2020 on virtual Platform, through CDSL.
During the AGM held, BCBA has elected its New Office Bearers and Managing Committee for the term 2020-22. The following Members are the newly Elected Office Bearers and Managing Committee Members of Brihanmumbai Custom Brokers Association for the year 2020 – 2022.
Mr. Kiran Rambhia heads the newly elected Brihanmumbai Custom Brokers Association Team. This year BCBA conducted their elections online due to ongoing pandemic. E voting conducted on 16th September 2020 and total 801 members casted vote, many members appreciated the process.
The meeting was started by President Mr. Karunakar Shetty. All the agenda points were taken up and completed successfully. The President addresssed all members who were present virtually. During his address he mentioned, “Over the years in my journey at BCBA I had the privilege of working closely with the stalwarts of the industry. This video is solely dedicated to each one of them and to this esteemed institute.”
A short video presentation about his journey and its achievements were presented.
Also a detailed presentation was given to members on various measures taken by BCBA for the larger benefit of the Export Import trade and Custom Brokers during his tenure 2018-2020 and especially in this pandemic time.
Former President, Advisor, Members who were present on the virtual platform applauded and appreciated the work done by the MC during the term 2018-2020, especially during the COVID 19 lockdown period.
The newly-elected team that will be led by the dynamic and able leadership of Shri Kiran Rambhia was officially announced and brought on board.
The installation ceremony for the newly elected President was commemorated by a momento by the outgoing President. A token of appreciation was also presented to the President-Elect Shri Dushyant Mulani.
The new President Mr. Kiran Rambhia conveyed that the earlier team under the Outgoing President Mr. Karunakar Shetty has done stupendous work with many landmark achievements during their term in the last two years.
Shri Kiran Rambhia in his address stated that “Service above self” will be the motto for his tenure and emphasized the role of technology in the routine aspects of the Custom Brokers. He assured that he and his team will work wholeheartedly for the betterment of the fraternity and briefed the house about his road map for the next two years.
President Kiran Rambhia further stressed to continue the good work with more enthusiasm and rightful spirit aiming to provide the best service in the larger interest of the trade-in general and custom broking fraternity particular
The President expressed his confident that with the combination of well experienced, young and dynamic newly elected MCM for the term 2020-2022, they are ready to serve the CB fraternity post lockdown.
BCBA is actively engaged in coordinating with the Ministry of Finance, CBIC, Ministry of Commerce, DGFT, Ministry of Shipping, Ministry of Civil Aviation, etc. for the rollout of various measures in Ease of Doing Business. The role of Custom Brokers is well acknowledged by the Government of India
The meeting was concluded with a vote of thanks to members by Hon. Secretary- Shri Paresh Thakkar.
